    Depends on the age of the patient. As there’s a growth plate there, if the patient is 18 or under, it’s contraindicated. Also, it would depend how far along the inflammatory process is. There’s actually no research that definitively states there is true pain relief with US other than placebo effect (or at least there wasn’t as of 2007, the least time I looked.)I’m not as familiar with laser, but I’m fairly certain that the surface area for both modalities is fairly small for a larger area. And that they only go so deep into the tissue.

    My answer would be “perhaps, but it depends”
